Vodafone is hosting a free pop-up event at Mochi Café in Mansfield on Monday 19th October, with a talk by Anita Rani and a practical workshop for people with business ideas.
Vodafone is helping Mansfield locals turn lightbulb moments into a reality, after it found that over 17 million moments of inspiration become real side hustles or small businesses across the UK every year. To celebrate the places inspiring creativity and driving regional economic growth, Vodafone is bringing The Opportunity Hub to communities across the country to help people turn ideas and inspiration into opportunities.
The Opportunity Hub reflects VodafoneThree’s commitment to building the UK’s best network. VodafoneThree is expanding coverage across the country. This includes upgrading sites in Mansfield, such as areas around Kings Mill Hospital, Eakring Road, Ladybrook and King George V Recreation Ground, to deliver faster 5G and more reliable coverage. These improvements in Mansfield will see Vodafone and Three customers benefit from faster download speeds.
To help celebrate VodafoneThree’s local network investment, giving more local people the connectivity to put their ideas into action, Vodafone is marking the occasion with a free pop-up event at the Mochi Café, Mansfield on Monday 19th October.
The Opportunity Hub will offer free seminars, workshops and expert advice, including:
An audience with TV and radio presenter Anita Rani
A practical workshop led by Enterprise Nation
Free professional headshots
Plus, complimentary drinks and treats
The free pop-up event will transform Mochi Café into a space where locals can explore new ideas, access practical tools and advice, and take the next step towards turning inspiration into a hobby, side hustle or small business.
During the morning, The Opportunity Hub will feature a talk from TV and radio presenter Anita Rani, who will share her journey from hosting her first radio show in Bradford at just 14 to presenting Countryfile and Woman's Hour, and more recently launching her own production company and creating her podcast, Sisters of Defiance. Drawing on her experiences of taking risks, challenging expectations and creating new opportunities, Anita will share her advice on turning a lightbulb moment into your next big move, followed by a live Q&A with the audience. The session will also shine a light on how people from Mansfield are using connectivity to turn inspiration into art, businesses and hobbies.
In the afternoon, Enterprise Nation will be hosting a practical workshop exploring how people can turn local activity and interests into action – whether they are already running a small business, developing a side hustle or simply have an idea or hobby they would like to take further. The session will look at how to make the most of the local opportunities and how reliable connectivity makes it easier to discover new businesses, share ideas, and stay in touch with customers and local community groups. The key theme is to turn inspiration into something tangible, helping Mansfield locals move from "I have an idea", to taking a practical first step.
Sessions are free to attend and can be booked via Eventbrite. Advance booking is recommended as spaces are limited.
Guests can also capture a free professional headshot for LinkedIn and social media, and register for a free seven-day Vodafone network trial.
